• Flight 7 and Flight 8 both exploded less than 10 minutes after liftoff.

• Flight 9 broke apart during reentry to Earth’s atmosphere.

Goals for Flight 10

Flight 10 was intended to pursue goals similar to those of Flight 9. Super Heavy was slated for splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico about 6.5 minutes after launch, while Ship was scheduled to travel over the globe for controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Western Australia, about one hour later. The mission plan also included deploying eight dummy versions of SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites and conducting an engine relight test in space.
